Team HBV Youth Leadership Conference

Team HBV at Harvard College Conference

Team HBV is part of a nationwide initiative to combat Hepatitis B, a viral liver disease that affects 1 in 12 Asian Americans, by increasing community awareness and understanding.

Team HBV has actively implemented outreach initiatives by giving educational presentations and providing free Hep B screenings for the community. Recently, we also launched a series of youth leadership workshops, teaching high school students how to be health advocates in their community.

Team HBV will hold its annual Youth Leadership Conference (YLC) for high school students from the greater Boston area on Sunday, April 24, 2016. The purpose of the YLC is for Harvard student mentors to guide and encourage high school students to 1) recognize areas of need in their community, 2) realize how they can make a difference, and 3) develop as health advocacy leaders. Students will have the opportunity to apply their leadership skills in a case study and outreach simulation project, as well as connect with other students who are excited to affect change. The YLC will be a one-day, active conference.

Students who plan to attend the conference should register at https://docs.google.com/a/college.harvard.edu/forms/d/1AFb5aFIhwTkbyRwgv5cRlwJMpVtUBfKxnGE5tM_PXpM/viewform?c=0&w=1 by Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11:59pm.

Our greatest hope is to provide and empower youth with an enriching experience at the conference.
