Event: Imagine Your Future: Autism, College Transitions, and Academic Success

On behalf of Tufts University’s Student Accessibility and Academic Resources and Stairway to STEM, I’m writing to invite you and your student, family, and educational communities to “Imagine Your Future: Autism, College Transitions, and Academic Success.” The event will be held Saturday May 30, 2020 from 10:00 to 2:45 p.m., with an optional campus tour from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Launched in October 2018, Stairway to STEM (STS) is a National Science Foundation funded project that supports the college transition for autistic students, particularly in STEM. We publish blogs, videos, interviews, tools, podcasts, and other resources on the obstacles and challenges that students face in the college transition.

“Imagine Your Future” will feature keynote Patrick Dwyer. Patrick is a STEM PhD student at UC Davis and an autistic self-advocate. Panels will feature Student Life and Disability Services experts as well as current and former autistic students. Panelists will represent Tufts University, Quinsigamond Community College, Dean College, Stone Hill College, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Salem State University.

We hope you will share the event flyer and agenda with students, families, educators, and support professionals in your network. Registration is $40. Additionally, we are happy to offer a limited number of low- and no-cost options. Registrants can attend the on-campus event or sign up for a live stream broadcast.
