Emerson College Stage Design Studio Pre-College Program.
The program begins July 10, 2016 and ends August 14, 2016. This five-week program is for high school students with a passion for the arts and a desire to hone their skills as designers and artists.

The Stage Design Studio will focus on the design process and the practices designers, theatrical and otherwise use to develop ideas and translate those ideas into an aesthetic product. Students will develop and practice skills including: Script and character analysis
Research
Presentation
Model building
Theatrical drafting
Rendering

Practicing artists and designers teach the students in the same studio space used by the undergraduate Design Technology students, further giving students a taste of the demands of an arts education.

This program works through the medium of theatrical design but the lessons will benefit all students looking towards a career in the arts. At the end of the program students will receive a certificate of completion and will have a body of work to add to their portfolio. Rising seniors interested in applying to the BFA Design/Tech program will have the opportunity to complete a pre-admissions interview and portfolio review.

Interested students can apply through Emerson College's slideroom page. This program accepts a limited number of students so those who are interested should apply early.
