Friday Updates - Class of 2018 and Summer Program Opportunities

Good luck to anyone taking the ACT's tomorrow!
Remember to get a good's night rest and eat a filling breakfast!

Some tips for college applications, especially November 1 deadlines:

Coalition Application Tip, especially for UMD:  According to yellow sheets received, your Guidance Counselor will submit your school documents through Naviance.  Therefore, please select the top choice - "I will submit all these documents separately through other means outside the Coalition System."

Application submission tip:  The college's deadline is the last day that students can submit a college application.  Students can and should submit the college application anytime before the deadline.  Please don't wait until the last day - in previous years, there have been power outages on November 1st.

Another tip: If your online portal with a particular college indicates "application incomplete, transcript not yet received" - please don't panic. According to the deadline on your yellow sheet, your Guidance Counselor will submit or already has submitted your transcript, school profile, teacher letter(s) of recommendation, and Guidance Counselor letter of recommendation.  To verify this, check your college list in Naviance and see if the office status indicates "Initial Materials Submitted"  Colleges take SEVERAL weeks after the deadline to match supporting documents to your application.
