Class of 2018 Updates - Scholarship Opportunities, College Decisions, etc.

Seniors -

Please remember to share all of your college decisions, good or bad, with your counselor.

Please continue to check the application portal(s) provided to you from the colleges - they are updated regularly and will let you know if your application is complete.

Yellow sheets: Remember, the deadline for yellow sheets for January 1 and 15 deadlines has passed - if you have any remaining yellow sheets, please get them to me ASAP. For yellow sheets that have been processed, in Naviance, next to each college under “Office Status” it will read, “Initial Materials Submitted”.  If it says “Pending”- you HAVE NOT given me a yellow sheet yet.

AES Scholarship 2018
The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students.  This award is available to all students, regardless of their field of study.

 We are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted.
Amount of award:   $500.00

Gettysburg College STEM Scholarship Program 
-Students interested in STEM fields (Biology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics). STEM Scholars will have their full demonstrated financial need met for all four years with no loans, and have the opportunity to:
*Attend a STEM-focused pre-orientation workshop with other STEM Scholars.
*Enroll in an exclusive First-Year Seminar taught by STEM faculty.
*Participate in bi-monthly luncheons with STEM faculty and a variety of learning activities on and off campus.
*Take advantage of various STEM offerings, including faculty-student research, peer-mentoring, preferential residence in Gettysburg College's Science House, and internship opportunities with industrial partners.
Our deadline for Regular Decision admission (using the Common Application) is January 15, and students should file both the CSS Financial Aid Profile and FAFSA by January 15.

Red Pine Scholars Program
The Red Pine Scholars Program offers high-performing high school seniors and recent graduates from Massachusetts the chance to attend competitive colleges anywhere in the United States. The Program is dedicated to making college affordable for Massachusetts families and helping students to reach their full potential. If accepted into the program, students receive a four-year scholarship of up to $20,000 annually, plus individual mentoring and funding for enrichment opportunities.

Yawkey Scholars Program is designed to make college affordable for talented, motivated, low-income students from Massachusetts and Georgetown County, South Carolina. It provides a four-year renewable tuition scholarship (up to $25,000 per year) and other supports to help students achieve academically and go on to be successful and highly productive members of our community. Over the past twelve years, the Yawkey Scholars Program has provided $10 million in tuition supports to 298 Scholars as they pursue a college education.
